Description
A national broadcast that immortalizes the memory of the “Factor of the Revolution”
On the occasion of National Martyr's Day, celebrated on 02/18/2026, Algérie Poste issued the first postage stamp of the year 2026 in tribute to the martyr Mohamed Zemouri (1918–1957), one of the activists in the Post and Telecommunications sector during the glorious Liberation Revolution. This broadcast is part of national efforts aimed at preserving historical memory and promoting the symbols of the national struggle, particularly those who transformed their civilian functions into instruments of direct support for the Revolution.
Mohamed Zemouri, professional postman, embodies the model of the patriotic civil servant who has put his mission at the service of the national cause. He contributed to the transport of correspondence and the transmission of information between the mujahideen in extremely dangerous conditions. He was martyred under torture without revealing any information, becoming a symbol of resistance and sacrifice within the postal sector.
In the documentary context, it should be noted that the idea of dedicating a stamp to the memory of the martyr Mohamed Zemouri was born from an initiative of the project leader, with the support and support of Mr. Ammar Bouzidi, illustrating the active contribution of collectors and enthusiasts to the enrichment of the national philatelic program and the promotion of local figures in the official postal memory.

The stamp adopts a realistically rendered black and white portrait, emphasizing the documentary and archival nature of the historical image, and giving the issue a marked institutional sobriety. The name appears in Arabic and Latin characters at the bottom of the visual, in a clear presentation with an identifying and national purpose.
The First Day envelope presents, for its part, a contemporary chromatic treatment integrating red and green inspired by the colors of the Algerian flag, with a more dynamic representation of the martyr, establishing a visual balance between historical memory and modern interpretation.
