Next to Mercury, Iris, messenger of the gods lighting the way with her torch, is chosen for the most common uses: letters and postcards.
Printing took place in two places: first in Paris, then, between September 1939 and September 1940, in Limoges.
But the Iris type is better known for its famous interzone postcards where the stamp is printed.
